We welcome a new set of businesses as clients – mobility providers – in addition to serving the mobility needs of companies and their employees. Supplying and partnering with new client groups such as rental companies, car sharing companies, taxi companies, ride sharing companies and innovative digital platforms means LeasePlan will extend its end-user base beyond company employees to other kinds of work or leisure travellers.
For example, we are working closely with Denmark-based company GoMore, which organises ride-shares and short-term rentals, also in Sweden, Norway and Spain.
We offer a multi-modal solution for employee travel by making it possible to combine leasing with other mobility services, such as public transport and taxis for employee travel, including expense management services. This offers the flexibility desired by employees and enables companies to manage the total cost of mobility.
To that end, LeasePlan is adding a suite of services that can be offered separately to leasing or other vehicle-focused mobility offerings. Already available in several European countries (Belgium and the Netherlands), LeasePlan clients have access to mobility cards that not only cover fuel expenses but can also be used to charge e-vehicles, use public transport, order taxis and more.
Fleet managers are interested in optimising their company’s spend on vehicle mobility, achieving greater fleet flexibility, maximising vehicle utilisation and having a single point of contact. LeasePlan offers a package of flexible, easy-to-tailor offerings including rental, short and long term lease, car sharing and pool management.
We are also developing new vehicle and fleet management solutions such as tailor-made combinations of new and used vehicles. New client services, such as SwopCar and FlexiPlan, deliver mobility by the hour or by the year. The SwopCar solution gives clients a way to better share their vehicles among their employees. FlexiPlan, on the other hand, focuses on the 1 to 24-month market, for companies unable to commit to longer-term contracts.
Global trends including the ‘sharing’ economy, urbanisation and environmental awareness are encouraging people to explore alternatives to vehicle ownership. As they look beyond traditional modes of transport, they are reshaping the personal mobility landscape.
To help us stay ahead of these changing mobility attitudes and needs, we have defined a mobility strategy. We are extending the LeasePlan offering from full-service vehicle leasing to a range of forward-thinking, flexible solutions. Our company will be a ‘one-stop shop’ for corporate mobility by offering a package of flexible, customisable offerings including rental, short and long-term lease, car sharing and pool management.
